COMMUNITY HERO AWARD

These deserving individuals were nominated and awarded their awards.

Patti Pepper - Simcoe Curling Club

Patti has served the Simcoe Curling Club for over four decades and was part of the inauguration of the Tuesday Night Ladies Business League, served on day and ladies executive committees along with being a Board member. She has been instrumental in fundraisin activities, bonspiels and as caterer of the club's New Years Eve and year end closing banquet.


Blake Sinclair - Huntley Curling Club

Blake has been involved with the Huntley Curling Club for many years including being a board member for past 8 years. He has been involved in sponsorship, organizing year end 'Last Rock bonspiel', the 'President's Challenge", and helped create a multi-year budget for capital programs. Sold the building naming rights to offset some of these much needed projects (condenser, chiller, air exchange).


Jane & Marv Schmitt - Ilderton Curling Club

Jane and Marv have been instrumental in developing the Novice/Junior program at the Ilderton Curling Club. Marv has instructed at over 150 clinics while Jane ran the Little Rocks progra from 2003-2020. Both have served on the Board and have been involved in all aspects of operating the club in an open and welcoming environment. They are very dedicated to the club and its continued success.


Brenda Barham - Wiarton & District Curling Club

Brenda has been the key person in developing Little Rocks along with Junior and Adult Learn to Curl programs. As a Club Coach she has helped grow the game in the area by attracting and training many of the new members who enter the club. As the 'GO TO' person at the Club, Brenda creates an open and inviting environment for all to play.

Beth Goodhew - Huntsville Curling Club

Beth has served the Huntsville Curling Club as a Board member and President where she provided leadership in introducing a structure that supported actionable items with subcommittees. She was actively involved in club upgrades including new roof and ice plant. She continues to serve as CurlON rep and looks to bring profitable events to club.


Marg & Rick Lomore - Pembroke Curling Club

Marg & Rick have served the Pembroke CC in all capacities including on the Board, as organizers and everything curling in Pembroke. They developed and ran the Learn to Curl that has attracted over 100 new members. Both have been Board members and CurlON Club representatives over the years in order to be informed on all programs.
