CurlON Competitions 2020-21
CurlON has not sanctioned any competitions in Ontario for the 2020-21 curling season!
CurlON is working to announce a new plan for competitions under Covid-19 protocols. Under this new world reality things have changed and the old way of doing things is not currently feasible. Hosting qualifiers at clubs is difficult for many reasons: revenue for club, safety protocols for athletes/volunteers/staff, Health officials, time constraints for clubs (late openings, member ice demands) and a full list of others.
Does this mean CurlON will not be hosting competitions - a resounding 'NO'. The operations team has been in communication with Curling Canada, Tours, Ministries and host venues to determine the best course of action. We are working on a full package of competitions that will allow for the continued development of athletes all while continuing to advance teams to any National Championship that is still being hosted.
"CurlON's approach to hosting competitions in 2020-21 will be predicated on a safety for all approach first and foremost. Secondly it will allow for the continued development of athletes whether the championship leads to a National Championship or not."
